INK AND DUST
This project is a layered visual narrative exploring memory, identity, and the traces people leave behind. A modern-day man discovers an old case filled with photographs, typewritten notes, postcards, and clothing, remnants of an unknown traveler’s time spent across Europe. As he puts on the man’s clothes and reads through his letters, projected imagery and memories begin to cover his body, blurring the line between past and present.
The traveler’s words, filled with observations of old streets, fleeting beauty, and human connection, are themselves an ode to the people who came before him, creating an ironic echo, as the reader unknowingly steps into the same role. Through noir-inspired visuals, selective light, and mixed media ephemera, the work reflects on how each life is layered with those that came before it, and how storytelling is the only way we continue to exist beyond ourselves.
