EVANS DEVENTER
Evans Deventer is a concept-driven studio and atelier founded by Paris-based artist Nicholas Evans and later passed on to curator Angelo Evans. With locations in Paris and Columbus, the space bridges two cities through a shared appreciation for time, decay, and the relics of worn identities.
The Columbus showroom, designed in 2015 near German Village, serves as a brick-and-mortar reflection of these ideas, featuring original artwork, furniture, jewelry, clothing, and collected objects arranged to express a deep reverence for decayed decadence, long-held traditions, and the looming presence of the past.
Evans Deventer functions as an evolving environment that invites exploration into layered themes and conceptual narratives, using material, fashion, and form to create a space where memory and meaning quietly persist.
Angelo Evans took over the space in 2020, continuing to bring in antiques, clothing, and accessories that complement the art and world of the Evans Deventer Studio. He uses the space as a backdrop for photoshoots and collaborative projects, expressing his appreciation for storytelling and world-building and applying his own lens to the studio environment.
